Walks Directly from Brig y Don

You don’t even need to get in the car to start exploring! A number of lovely short walks begin straight from Brig y Don — ideal for sea views, fresh coastal air and finding quiet hidden spots along the shore.

Loop around Cardigan Golf Club – Turn right from Brig y Don towards the Flat Rock restaurant, then follow bridleway and footpath signs around the golf club and back through countryside with fabulous views.
Patch Beach – A favourite brisk walk for guests: either park right by the beach or stroll down from Brig y Don along the pavement to the boat club and out onto the wide sands at low tide.
Morgan’s Beach – A locally cherished secret! Walk past the Cliff Hotel and follow the footpath towards Cardigan Island until you reach this sandy, fairly secluded cove — a lovely spot for swimming or a sunset BBQ.

These walks offer inspiring sea views, peaceful moments by the shore and a real sense of place — all just minutes from Brig y Don.

Wales Coast Path

Step On from the Door

Right beside Brig y Don is the Wales Coast Path, including the stunning Ceredigion Coast Path section of the trail. This waymarked national route skirts the edge of Cardigan Bay and can be walked in short sections or tackled as part of longer coastal hikes.

From the doorstep you can access:

Sections heading south towards Mwnt and the dramatic headland beaches.

Northbound paths with sweeping views towards New Quay and Aberaeron.

Wildlife-rich cliff tops with frequent dolphin and seabird sightings.

Whether you want a quick wander or a stretch that takes a good few hours, the Coast Path gives you unmatched access to West Wales’ shoreline scenery.

Longer Walks Around Ceredigion & Pembrokeshire

For walkers seeking full-day adventures or longer established routes, the region around Brig y Don is rich with options:

Penbryn Circular Walk – A popular coastal loop in the Ceredigion area, perfect to combine sea and woodland scenery with a café stop.

Ceredigion Coast Path day walks – From seaside villages like Aberporth, Tresaith and New Quay, walkers can explore scenic cliff top paths and sandy beaches with sea views and dolphins along the route.

Pembrokeshire Coast Path – A little further afield but well worth a day trip, this stunning National Trail runs for nearly 186 miles of rugged coastal scenery — perfect for experienced walkers looking for dramatic cliff scenery and remote coves.
